Yukon Canadian Immigration Program
The Yukon Community Pilot (YCP) is a new branch of the Yukon Nominee Program. This program was launched in 2020 and is set to continue until June 2025.
If you have a valid nomination for permanent residency in Yukon, you may be eligible for an open, location-restricted work permit for two years under the YCP.
Features of the Work Permit:
- Work with up to three different employers in one of the participating Yukon communities.
- Valid for two years.
- Does not require a labor market impact assessment.
Immigration Requirements to Yukon
To be eligible for a work permit, you must:
- Have 2 or 3 qualifying job offers.
- Obtain a signed letter of support from the Yukon Government.
- Meet the general requirements for a work permit.
Job Offer Requirements:
- All jobs must be in the same participating Yukon community.
- Total hours must be at least 30 per week (equivalent to full-time employment).
- Jobs must be non-seasonal.
- Have paid work that is regularly scheduled throughout the year.
- Wage must meet or exceed the minimum wage.
Required Documents:
- Copy of the nomination letter from the Yukon Government confirming your nomination for permanent residency.
- A letter of support signed by the Yukon Government, stating:
- That employers offering you jobs need you to work in the community as soon as possible.
- That job offers are genuine.
- Details of job offers, including:
- Names of employers.
- Positions.
- Number of hours.
- Places of employment.
- Employers are not required to submit a job offer through the Employer Portal.
