This initiative aims to gather a diverse group of five emerging leaders to attend the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal (Tiohtià:ke), representing Holcim on a global scale. The focus is on supporting young innovators who are contributing significantly in areas such as:
- Implementing cutting-edge AI technology for eco-friendly construction projects, aimed at boosting operational effectiveness, selecting sustainable materials, managing waste, designing green buildings, or enhancing energy conservation.
- Applying AI to improve urban resilience, for instance, through better disaster prediction and management, efficient traffic control systems, upkeep of infrastructure, or strategies for climate change adaptation.
- Promoting the ethical use of AI in urban planning, which includes developing regulatory and policy guidelines, fostering community involvement and awareness, or encouraging cross-disciplinary cooperation.
Participants in the training will benefit from:
- Access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal, Canada, scheduled for September 18-21.
- Accommodation in Montreal from October 17-22.
- Round-trip airfare to Montreal (economy class).
- Full meal provision during the conference days (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
- Local transport between the lodging and the summit venue.
- A pre-summit orientation in Montreal.
Moreover, participants will gain a rare chance to become part of the Holcim community, widening their professional network and interacting with other young individuals dedicated to making a difference. Holcim will offer continuous support and mentorship throughout the summit and after.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be aged between 18 and 30 years.
- Have made a meaningful contribution in one of the scholarship’s key focus areas:
- Utilization of AI in sustainable building practices.
- Application of AI for enhancing urban resilience.
- Ethical integration of AI into urban development strategies.
